Who doesn’t love a good parade?
Well, it’s that time of year, registration for SMJC participation in Gatlinburg’s award-winning 48th Annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade is amongst us. Registration is now open for Club Members who would like to participate. Registration is limited to one Jeep per person, so everyone will have a chance to participate. The cost to enter the parade is $25 per vehicle, this helps offset insurance fees that must be in place to cover the group as a whole. By registering, you are only guaranteed a spot once you receive an email that your order is completed. We have limited space and are on a first-come first-serve basis. ALL SALES ARE FINAL, refunds will only be put in place IF THE CITY OF GATLINBURG cancels the parade.
Rules & Regulations:
This is a Club Event
You must be able to meet Friday, December 1st between 3pm-4pm to decorate, line up begins around 5pm. The parade starts rolling @ 6:50pm.
You must be a SMJC Member
You must have a factory open topped Jeep
Per the City of Gatlinburg, the only flags allowed to be flown are the nationally recognized American flag, SMJC Club flag, and Armed Forces flags, NO POLITICAL or offensive flags are allowed
You must decorate with TONS OF LIGHTS AND HOLIDAY DECOR (this is a lighted parade) all groups are judged by representatives of the parade.
There is only 1 Santa and he is at the end of the parade, do not dress up as Santa
Do not throw any object including candy from your vehicle
Height limit due to power lines and traffic lights is 13ft
Do not stop and exit your vehicle during the parade, keep rolling with the group
(more information will be sent out 2 weeks prior to the event)
REMEMBER – LIGHTS, LIGHTS, LIGHTS – Thanks to our wonderful Club Members, we have received first place numerous times for “best use of lights” at the Gatlinburg Parade and want to maintain our winning streak!!!
Two weeks prior to the event, you will receive an email with directions on our meeting location to decorate for the parade.
